Work-related complaints
Work-related complaints are complaints that negatively affect your work; you can no longer perform your duties (in part). For example, the symptoms may arise from work, sports or hobbies. Consider complaints of the hands, arms, neck, shoulders and back. In popular parlance, these complaints are often referred to as “Repetitive Strain Injury; (RSI) or “Complaints of the Arms, Neck and Shoulders (CANS).

Work-related complaints at FT Amsterdam
At Physiotherapy & Training Amsterdam, we are not quick to talk about RSI or CANS, but rather look at what the underlying causes of the symptoms may be. Symptoms arise gradually and by tracing the origin we get to the root of the problem. From there, we will work with you to develop a person-centered treatment plan.
Work-related complaints can arise from:
- Repetitive movements;
- Holding a static, twisted or uncomfortable posture for long periods of time;
- Exercising strength;
- Kracht uitoefenen;
- Lack of variety in work;
- Stress;
Symptoms usually develop gradually and are often related to the tasks, often repetitive movements, that you perform for long periods of time. In our Western culture, one often encounters complaints that stem from monitor work, but can also flare up in hairdressers, musicians and butchers, for example. Symptoms range from tingling, stiffness, pain and loss of strength.
