Emma Schreuder is a sports physiotherapist. In 2024, she obtained her Master of Science degree in Sports Physiotherapy from Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. During her studies, she conducted research into the influence of the menstrual cycle on sports performance in amateur female football players. This topic is receiving increasing attention within the sports world, and due to the relevance of her research, Emma was invited to present her master’s thesis poster at the MSG Symposium 2025.
During her master’s programme, Emma co-developed and delivered the online course Motor Learning in the Sports Context for physiotherapists, together with two lecturers. This course is still available through CME-online.
With the knowledge gained from her specialisation, Emma is able to analyse any sport and translate this into an effective rehabilitation programme in clinical practice. Thanks to her background in tennis and hockey, as well as her years of experience as a physiotherapist for the FC Abcoude Sunday first team, she knows better than anyone how to develop a training programme tailored to the athlete and their sport. The athlete is always at the centre of her approach: through close collaboration, Emma aims for a safe and successful return to sport.
Within the clinic, Emma focuses on implementing sport-specific assessment and training equipment, such as VALD ForceDecks, Output, and Keiser. These tools make it possible to train in a sport-specific and safe manner, for both recreational athletes and elite performers. In addition, Emma collaborates with colleague Benjamin Bos and Dr. Tulner from Orthodirect to provide high-quality orthopaedic and sports care.
Emma is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
